This goes out to everyone working out.
Supplement companies are constantly trying shake off your money with the usual sale schemes. Almost all product reviews are never scientific, only subjective and fancy talk. 90% of them dont do jack shit, take for instance the NO/arginine scam. I would like to make a thread about supplements that DO work with scientific backing, afterwards we will discuss the price to effectivity ratio of these products. Could make for an interesting read. Will edit on research. |

well I haven't taken straight arginine but I know that Amped ECN (creatine, arginine, BCAAs, and other stuff) definitely gives me a better pump and a longer lasting pump.
Also would like to point out that they are NOT NO2 products they are NO products. Most ppl get confused because the NO2 name on one such product. However, they are NO products (nitric oxide). Plus there are other things that increase NO or iNOS or some such. I believe Ornithine is one such product and actually works better than straight arginine(which actually has been proven the least effective of the NO products, lol) Anyways, yes supplements are mostly hype but you should research before buying that way you spend money wisely on things that work and things that will actually help. Even supplements that are proven still only give a slight edge, but of course we make some of them staples of the bodybuilding supplement regimen.

I have said this for YEARS! Even at bb.com when I get the 7,000 PM's a day with the "what should I take" questions. My answer is always: FOOD! 5-6 times a day!

no comment
![]() Supplements do help, but you can go overboard if you are neglecting such as dieting and training. Certain supps I wouldnt' go for since they are gimmicky. Being a supplement rep I've learned some stuff about the industry. |

i dont even use protein, or any other supp, i just eat fucking food
sure im not huge by any means but too many people flush their cash with that bullshit i seriously hate the supplement industry just make big pyrex trays of chicken in the oven and grab one every once in a while, and have a big tupperware tub of brown rice and a few sauces like teriyaki or good ol' KC Masterpiece |

Certain aspects of the industry I hate.
Staple supplements I like though are: -Whey (generally isolate since I don't digest wpc well) -Fish Oil -Multi-Vitamin -ALA or some antioxidant. -Creatine in some form. Most everything else is gimmicky. Not saying it doesnt work but it depends on your goals (sports/training specific...e.g. I'd vouch for ALCAR but it isnt necessary), budget, and how long you have been training. |
