It had to be done.
I won't pretend to be any guru, but that is how I train. To start off the discussion, one thing that has really helped my explosiveness is box jumps. I love them.

I've got bumpers at my gym I used them when I did snatches and clean and jerks...but the problem with the snatches were...I was doing them completely wrong, it was like an explosive front raise and I was standing up not squatted.

Most people do that when they start out. I actually wouldn't recommend trying to snatch. The snatch is such a high risk movement that if you don't have coaching you would be better off just clean and jerking. IMO at least.

I don't do any oly lifts other than hang cleans really, sometimes throw a press in there but that's all. however, I loved doing box jumps when i had access to a box. really helped my vertical leap a shitload, and I barely lifted then yet I could hop like crazy. anybody know where they sell those kinda boxes?
