How Do You Clean A Belt

But its getting all these dark smudges on it. Should I just use a rag with dish soap?

I like those battle scars on my belt. Mine's even rusted at the rivets. You can clean them with SaddleSoap and a scrubbie pad. Once well dry, you can oil them with Mink oil (which will darken the leather significantly). If you want to go all out, RedWing boots makes a "boot oil" that goes on with a brush. It'll also darken the leather but will make it silky smooth and elastic. Beautiful enough to

I just realized that I was assuming this is a leather belt. I've cleaned nylon belts inside a "Dryel" bag in the dryer. Good luck. al

It is suede on the outside of the leather. I wouldn't clean it but mines red, white, and blue and I don't want some canadian to get mad at me for dishonoring the colors of their flag. Also the white is the real problem the other colors are fine
