Website building question (srs)

Without giving my idea away too much, I want to build a website as a busines. It's going to be something like plenty of fish but not the same topic. I want to have a lot of their features like it being free, the survey type thing when you sign up, breaking the site down into geographic districts, ect.

Now, how would I go about getting this built? Would it be worth it for me to spend the time doing it myself (I know nothing about CSS C++ or Java or any of that for that matter) or could I hire someone to build this for me for cheap?

Hire a local service who specializes in site development and management. Faster and better service than having to learn the coding yourself. Become familiar with the management tools and SEO tools.

Thank you. What if I'm planning on moving away from my local area soon? Would I be able to transfer to another local service where I'm moving to? And how would I go about hosting the site? I know I will need my own servers eventually.

Your physical location won't matter. I live in New Mexico & host out of Tennessee. You might want to grab your desired domain name now, while you're figuring out who'll design & host your site. You can build your own servers while renting out space on someone else's. Good luck!

I agree. Def host your own server and just rent out the hosting space for it. Get yourself a nice setup w/ redundancy and a decent backup system.

There are certain private websites that will allow you to post what you want done, a bunch of people will bid out their work, and you go from there... dirt dirt cheap for decent quality.

Alright. I'm going to look for a local company then to help me get started with the design and hosting of my site.

Excellent fucking idea. My buddy used to operate The Speared Peanut but apparently a divorce split it up. He's the best web designer I know but he's god awful pricey. He could probably recommend someone though.

Virtual private server is the way to go if you ask me. it is like having your own server without the headaches.

get someone to help you develop the site for sure.

tie up a domain name as soon as possible even if you are not ready.
